Struggling with back discomfort and a little sciatica I dosed myself up with analgesics before stating this walk. The plan was to try and if I found things too uncomfortable I would just turn around and try another day. It was another fantastic day bright sunshine and clear blue skys so I could take my time. With regular stops for photos and popping more pills I got to the summit at a snails pace in 3 hours. It was well worth it though. The descent off Wetherlam Edge was not and at times I thought there must be no path at all down. Just as I thought this a little gravel track appeared for a short ditance before diappearing agin several times among the boulders and rock. A little detour onto a couple of birkets took me off the main route but with the assistance of Satmap and clear views I rejoined the main path for the return to Tilberthwaite.
