I am a 67 year old retired procurement specialist that used to work for Stock Building Supply.  I have always loved to draw things but never took any formal training.  I did watch Bob Ross on PBS and became intranced with his work and his statement that anyone can paint.  I purchased some oil paint, brushes and canvas and started trying to paint.  For several years I was an off and on painter only painting when time and and constraints permited me to and these were infrequent.  When I retired I got divorced within 2 months of that time.  This freed me and my time up.  I took up painting on a full time basis.  It passed time for me and occupied my mind.  I grew to love painting and putting things down on canvas.  I guess you would call me a folk artist not having any training and just doing what felt right to me and looked the way I liked it.  It is to the point that I want to show the world some of the beauty that I see in it and the way I see it.  I paint to please myself because if I don't like my work why would I expect someone else to enjoy it.  If I can bring a little of the beauty that I see into the lives of a few others then I have accomplished what I am trying and am fullfilled.  I hope others feel the same way and that there may be some out there that like my work.
